Project Sift Devlog #3 : World Concept


Note From Dev:

Now that I seem to have that artstyle figured out ill start working on mechanics. First I'll start with simple interactions and audio. Then later on I'll be focussing on minigames.

Playtest Build:

  • World map concept (15th January 2022): As I've implemented how the general vegetation will look like, for this build I worked on the general concept of how the island will look like. And of course, the final layout of the island will be much bigger housing a lot more structures, but for this build, I went with a placeholder concept to showcase the base vision.

Features Added this Devlog:

  • Ocean
  • Basic world concept design
  • A few structures 
  • Settings menu
  • Started workings on interactables. For now, only the lights have been implemented.

Ongoing Development For Next Playtest Build:

  • Audio 
  • Object interactions
  • A fishing minigame (maybe if I got enough time)

Keybindings:

  • WASD to move
  • SHIFT to sprint
  • CTRL to crouch
  • ESC to open menu
