Project Sift Devlog #2: Migration to Unreal
Note From Dev:
I decided that Unreal was better in my case and so I remade the game in UE XD Also, the Project name will be changed to project Sift.
As now I'm in college and with exams coming close, these devlogs will take some time haha. I also need to learn Unreal, which I sure will as I'll just need to figure it out as I continue working on the game. I will continue posting whenever a major milestone is hit so I can get feedback to make it more polished and better. These releases will be more like a mechanics showcase of sorts for playtesting than the real deal and will lack the main storyline for the most part. And thank you for spending your time however little it is on this little project of mine <3
Playtest Build:
- Character controller (23rd Dec 2021): Migration to Unreal is completed! Implemented a day-night cycle and volumetrics to make it look pretty. I'm experimenting with a Kuwahara filter to make the game seem like a painting. NOTE: There is no quality setting for now so what you see will be the highest quality preset. This will affect performance significantly.
Features Added this Devlog:
- Day-Night system
- terrain and vegetation system implementation
- Wind Shaders for grass and leaves
- Volumetric lighting
Ongoing Development For Next Playtest Build:
- Settings menu
- Game map
- Ocean
Keybindings:
- WASD to move
- SPACE to jump
- SHIFT to sprint
- CTRL to crouch
